Modernwood recommends the following Care and Maintenance tips to preserve the beauty of your
timber floor

1.	Place outdoor mats in front of all entrances to your home to keep dirt, sand, grits off the floor.
2.	Regularly vacuum the floor to remove dust and grits to avoid scratches on the floor.
3.	Do not walk on the floor wearing shoes with spiked or damaged heel to prevent scratches and dents.
4.	Trim pets’ claws and clean them from dirt or soil.
5.	Felt pads to be used under any furniture or chair legs to prevent scratches. Regularly check the pads and replace if necessary.
6.	When moving heavy furniture or large appliances, place mat underneath to prevent scratches.
7.	Place rugs in heavy traffic areas such as room entries and stair landings.
8.	Never use wet mop to clean the floor as too much water will cause the floorboard to expand.
9.	Use damp cloth to wipe out spills immediately.
10.	Consistent exposure to direct sunlight may change the colour of the floor. From time to time, rearrange the furniture to allow the floor to age evenly.
